Rent allowance
To be entitled to housing allowance you have to live in an independent living space. This living space has have its own front door, kitchen and bathroom. Moreover, your income is important.

Sign rental contract
Upon paying the deposit you will receive your rental contract and the general rental conditions. The deposit consists of one month rent + 10 euro key deposit + 95 euro administration costs. You will receive the key when you have paid the deposit.
Moving
Register four weeks before to five days after your move to the municipality of Groningen.

Make sure you are well insured!! Think of liability insurances, for example.
Finally, it can be useful to write down an overview of companies and organizations from whom you receive mail in order to inform them about your change of address.
